What to Expect During Your Visit

Initial Evaluation:

Bridget will start with a 60-minute comprehensive evaluation to understand your unique health situation and concerns. She will conduct a physical examination that involves observing posture and movements, measuring strength and flexibility, and if appropriate, performing an internal exam to ensure a holistic assessment of your pelvic health issues.

At Impact Pelvic Health we will listen closely to your concerns and provide client-centered education about your condition. Bridget is committed to empowering you to take an active role in your care + life-long health and with her help together you’ll create a customized plan of care focused on what matters to you most. 

Your 60-minute follow-up sessions may include any of the following: 

Manual therapy: this treatment includes soft tissue mobilization, trigger point release, joint mobilizations, myofascial release (internal + external), scar mobilization and visceral massage.

Therapeutic exercise: targeting strength training, increasing flexibility, improving posture, balance and core stability. 

Education: topics may include anatomy & physiology, understanding your diagnosis,  bladder, bowel and sexual health promotion, lifestyle modifications and support for self-care techniques, symptom management strategies, and long-term maintenance of pelvic health.

Conditions We Treat

Pregnancy-related conditions: pelvic girdle pain (sacroiliac and/or pubic symphysis pain), low back pain, sciatica, urinary incontinence, constipation, tailbone pain and birth preparation (including perineal massage, breathing technique, etc.)

Postpartum recovery: Scar recovery (perineal + C-section), urinary + fecal incontinence, pelvic pain, diastasis recti (DRA), Prolapse, Pelvic floor muscle/Core/Hip strengthening and return to sport specific conditioning 

Bladder conditions: Urinary urgency/frequency (Overactive bladder), urinary retention/incomplete bladder emptying, Stress and/or urge urinary incontinence, Interstitial cystitis 

Bowel Dysfunction: Fecal incontinence, IBS, Constipation, Rectal prolapse, Tailbone pain 

Pelvic pain: Pain with vaginal penetration (intercourse, vaginal exam, tampon use), Vulvodynia/Vestibulodynia, Endometriosis, Pelvic floor muscle spasm 

Genitourinary symptoms of Menopause: painful intercourse, urinary frequency, Urinary incontinence, pain with urination, frequent urinary tract infections 

Transgender Care: pre- and post-operative recovery surrounding gender-affirming surgery including vaginoplasty 

Cancer Care: pre- and post-operative rehabilitation following radical prostatectomy surgery
